Long Kin

Got the chance to visit this new Thai restaurant thanks to Ompty Media.

The food here was so delicious and the owner and chef (Sutee and Suweena) were just lovely!

When you first walk in the door, you’re greeted by a big friendly monkey soft toy, shortly followed by Sutee’s smiling face.

As you walk further in you will notice that they have used the same monkey as their motif.

Having a look through their extensive menu, it was so hard to pick something to eat.

We ended up choosing spring rolls for an entrée.

They were so good. Filled with veggies, they were made to perfection. Every crisp bite left us wanting more.

For our drinks, we had mocktails. One being acai pome blue mogito (yes, mogito – that’s not a typo!) which was comprised of mint leaves, blueberries, acai, lime juice and club soda – this was just bursting with flavour.

The second one was a lemongrass jasmine iced tea made of lemongrass, lemon, vanilla, jasmine and lychee juice being more on the subtle side.

As a main, we both opted for rice as that is a traditional Asian dish – khao pad pla khem which is fried rice with smoked mackerel and Chinese broccoli and khao pad nam prik phao moo krob which is another variation of fried rice with crisp pork belly with chilli jam and mixed veg so we had one salty and one sweet.

The crisp pork belly was so good! It was melt in your mouth type good. We found out that they prepared it all in house and was a tedious process comprised of several hours of preparation!

Accompanying the rice, we had nuea yang (crying tiger) which is grilled wagyu beef with herb salad and chilli jam.

I have to say that whatever meat dish we ordered here was cooked until it was tender and just right.

The dishes are a considerable size so as much as we would have loved to have ordered more off the menu, we were too full – but never for dessert!

We were made a gorgeous lychee flavored pana cotta. I’d never had a lychee pana cotta before and this was just a delight! I’m a big lychee fan so this definitely was a treat for me.

Presented beautifully, it came out accompanied with berry compote and muesli clusters. It was definitely a great end to the meal!

You can find this little beauty located at Shop 1/2-14 Bunn St. Pyrmont. You can’t miss it!

Have a try and let me know what you think.

  1. Went to this place for Father’s Day celebration. Food preparation was a bit of a wait but we were complimented with vegetable spring rolls which was very delicious and unique in taste from the other vegetable spring rolls that I’ve tasted. The food was so well presented which gave you all the appetite to eat. Servings were perfect not too much and not short either – just satisfying.

Recommended to try and dine in this place.
