New York, New York!

We are now in New York!
I didn’t realise how far and big everything is in the US. It’s quite crazy. You pretty much need a car to get from A to B. All of the places I wanted to eat at were quite far from where we are staying in Queens which is a bit disappointing as there are only so many hours in the day.
We got in at 8:30am and check in wasn’t until 3pm which is quite annoying but at least we were allowed to leave our bags.
We were quite hungry so we went exploring around the neighbourhood. We did a few laps but there didn’t seem to be much around except for take away shops so we settled for a place called Checkers which we thought would be like Hungry Jacks back home.
When we walked in, it was a quiet little place which seems like the lunchtime place to eat for tradies.
Their menu items were super cheap, it was hard to believe that even make money off sales.

Anyway, we were starving and it looked like the safest place to eat in terms of trying to avoid food poisoning so we ordered a chilli dog and bacon roadhouse burger.

Their portion sizes weren’t too bad and again, the drinks were massive.
All in all, their food wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be for a cheap price and less to no wait time!

After we ate we headed back to the hotel and were lucky enough to get checked in four hours early!
This worked out well as we were super tired from our flight in so slept the day away.
Since we were in unfamiliar territory and didn’t see anywhere worth eating earlier on in the day we decided to order in via Uber Eats and opted for some Chubby Burgers and Chicken,
I ordered the Philly cheese steak, some mozzarella sticks, corn and a carrot cake.

My husband ordered the three-piece fried chicken meal with mashed potatoes and two biscuits (you can obviously tell I’m the fat one in the relationship lol).

Anyway, I really liked the Philly cheese and it’s actually the first time I’ve ever had one and it was damn good!
