The Mews Mosman

The lovely Pia invited us for a feed and can I just say that I was so happy because this really is one of my favourite places to eat even though it’s so far.
We had met Pia and the gang a few months back when we discovered them on Instagram. The pictures of their beautifully plated and colourful food drew us in for a drive up to the gates of Mosman.
Located in an alley way where there are no cars allowed, you will see their big umbrellas and café front buzzing with people.
Obviously you can’t miss the big camera we carry around for all of our food photos so naturally Pia asked if we were food bloggers and treated us to a wonderful lunch.
But it wasn’t only the fact that we were treated well that we wanted to come back, we also saw how lovely and hospitable they really were towards all of their customers, whether they were returning ones or newbies. Plus, the food was a hit with us.
This time around when we visited, we saw that they made sure their customers were comfy in the cold weather by providing them with blankets. Even one of their baristas remembered us and came out to say hello and have a quick chat.
We were given some hot drinks to start us off – mine naturally being a hot chocolate.

Now I heard the word that they use a coffee bean, which is only supplied to 13 cafés around Sydney.

For our mains we had the Mews Beef Burger, which was made up of grass fed beef, onion rings, lettuce, tomato relish, cheese, bacon and roasted garlic aioli, accompanied with a side of chips. This was delicious! A tower of a thing but it was definitely bursting with flavour.

We also had the corn fritters which had avocado, tomato salsa, poached egg, goat curd, tomato relish, crispy leeks and fried tofu. This was presented so beautifully – I thought the crispy leeks were surprisingly good and I don’t even like leek!

For dessert we shared a nutella lava hot cake which had lemon curd, fresh berries, nutella, fairy floss, candied pancetta and chilli infused maple. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one with such a different array of flavours but it was lovely.

The nutella oozed out in the centre of the cake and the candied pancetta was a nice surprise.

So if you haven’t had a chance to visit this place, you really should!
